Meaghan Shelton
Meaghan Shelton is an Australian visual artist, writer, curator, educator, and collaborator whose transdisciplinary practice spans textile, sculpture, painting, installation, photography, and fashion. Her work reimagines domestic spaces as charged sites of memory and resistance, interrogating the representation of women and nature within art historical and cultural narratives. Drawing from her Anglo-Celtic/Australian heritage, Meaghan’s practice is grounded in the material languages of craft and domesticity, reworking traditional techniques to explore the intersections of gender, ecology, unsettled and ancestral memory.
Based on Wadawurrung Country, in Ballarat, Victoria, Meaghan is currently undertaking a PhD in Visual Arts at Queensland University of Technology (QUT).
